Many people may be wondering what they should put on their altar. It's really not as hard as they think and they may be able to get more from thier altar set up.
There are many different gods and goddesses that a new practicing witch might want to include in their worship. They may be wondering what they should put on their altar and how to make it the best it can be. It's not as hard as they may think that it is. Finding A Place For The AltarThere are many people that believe that the altar should be in the middle of the home. This doesn't have to be where it is if the new practicing witch doesn't want to put it there. An altar is a very personal thing and it should be put where the practitioner feels the most connected. This may be in an area that is unexpected. Direction Of The AltarAnother thing that is important is the way that the altar is facing. Anyone that is looking into setting up their altar should research what direction the altar should face for what they are doing. The direction that the altar faces will make a big difference depending on what they want to do with the magic that they are working with. What To Put On The AltarThere are a few basic things that anyone creating an altar may want to put on their altar. The first thing that they will need is a candle or symbol for the god and the goddess that they choose to follow. They may decide that they only want a god or goddess instead of both. This symbol will be the thing that connects them to the divine and will be the most important part of the altar. A pentacle is also something that could help with the altar set up. The pentacle can help them to gain power as well as to help represent the five elements that they will be working with. Buying one is really not necessary if they have a piece of chalk that they can draw a pentacle on the altar with. This will be something that they will do before each ritual at the altar. A cauldron can be used for a couple of different things when a spell is going to be worked with an altar. The cauldron can be used to hold incense when it's needed for a ritual. They may also choose to use it to hold burning materials for spells that they may be working. There are many other things that can be used on an altar set up. These are just a few basics that any new practitioner may want to work with. They may also decide that they want to include more items to help with what they are doing. They should take the time and do what feels right to them so that they can be the happiest with their altar and feel that great connection to the divine. Source: Creating An Altar
