Moon cycles have been used since the beginning of magic, but what are they and how can someone use them properly.

The moon has been long been a large part of magic and rituals. For a capable magic practitioner, the moon can add a lot of power and potency to a wide array of spells.

The Waxing Moon in Magic

The waxing moon is when the moon is growing and getting closer to the full moon. That is why practitioners use it for pulling things in to them and gaining the items that they desire or need.

The waxing moon is a good time for the practitioner to draw things to them. This might include money or peace and happiness. It’s also a great time to study and learn more about the magic that’s around the practitioner.

The Waning Moon and Magic Spells

The waning moon is when the moon is getting smaller and after a full moon. That’s why most practitioners use a waning moon when they are ready to get rid of certain energies.

The waning moon is a good time for practitioners to push energy away from them. This might mean spells that are for banishing evil or for taking negative energy away from them.

Other Moon Phases and Casting Magic Spells

New moons are when there is no moon in the sky to be seen. These have a magical purpose, all on their own. A new moon is a good time to cleanse your magical items and for blessing any kind of new venture.

A full moon is when the moon appears in the night sky in all of its shape and glory. Many practitioners believe that this moon phase is the strongest of all of them and should be used for protection and divination spells, but can be used for any that the practitioner sees fit.

A dark moon is also when there is no moon in the sky at all, but this phase usually occurs three days before an actual new moon. Usually there is no work that is done during a dark moon and that it should stay that way until the new moon phase.

For a very long time, practitioners have used the moon to help with their magical work. It seems to help give power to what a practitioner is doing and it seems to make the spells as that more powerful, but if a practitioner decides that they need help with something right now, and the moon is not in the right phase, they can still do the spell and may see results. If the spell doesn’t work, then all they need to do is redo it during the proper moon cycle. For more information on moon cycles check out this website.
