Pagan Symbol of the Sun

Hitler and the Swastika

To the Pagans, the swastika was a symbol of the sun. After Hitler adopted this symbol for Nazism, its use was abandoned in Pagan magickal practices.

The Swastika or Fylfot Cross

The swastika is a universal symbol representing the sun and is found in all Pagan cultures. To the Native Americans, it also represented the four seasons and the directions. Buddhists use this symbol to mark many scriptures. It is also a sacred symbol for Norse, Basque, Baltic, and Celtic Pagans and the Hindus and the Jains.

It is a solar cross with four arms bent at right angles turning right or left, according to different Pagan and religious traditions, which represent a whirling motion. It used to be employed in Pennsylvania Deutsch Hex signs and as amulets in some Pagan religions, but, since it represented Nazism and the terror, horror, death, destruction and annihilation of that regime, it is no longer used. While hex signs do not use the swastika any longer, there are two stylized art forms based on this symbol. Jane and Jacob Zook, in their book, Hexology,(Jacob Zook, 1962) depict these. One are four crescent moons representing the four seasons and the other is a rain sign with four stylized rain drops. It was used in heraldry and appeared on coats of arms.

Hitler’s Secret Agenda

Hitler was charismatic. He was a powerful speaker and leader.

It is common knowledge that Hitler reunited Germany after World War I and established the Third Reich, then created the Holocaust during which 6,000,000 Jews were killed. There were the horrors of the concentration camps. He began his reign of horror by dismembering the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia in 1939 with the approval of the Allies, Winston Churchill being the lone dissenter. In 1942, Hitler’s troops wiped out Lidice, then a Czechoslovakian village, to teach those Slavs a lesson of humility and subservience.

It is also common knowledge that Hitler wanted to create a master race and killed those he deemed unfit to reproduce. The creation of the master race was an obsession for him.

According to Ann Moura, a certified history teacher and practitioner of Celtic Paganism, Green Witchcraft, in her book Dancing Shadows: The Roots of Western Religious Beliefs (Llewellyn Worldwide, Ltd., 1995), part of Hitler’s agenda was to restore the Pagan Aryan religion.

Heinrich Himmler, one of Hitler’s top aides, was the Grand Master of a Satanic coven of 12 SS men. He

played a key role in the exterminations.

What few people know is that there were 6,000,000 people who were killed prior to Hitler’s targeting the Jews. Nigel Cawthorne, in his book, Tyrants, (Barnes & Noble, 2004) also mentions this horror.

The first Hitlerian targets were the homosexuals, people with psychiatric disorders, the Slavs and the Gypsies. The world paid little heed to this.

Homosexuals were hated because they were seen as perverted people. The “mentally ill”? The world was in the Great Depression and they were seen as a drain on the economy, especially those who were institutionalized. Gypsies? They were also hated. This group was feared because of their customs, traditions and nomadic ways. It was rumored they kidnapped children. Slavs? Well, the annihilation is their problem.

Moura writes that Hitler underestimated the global reaction to his treatment of the Jews. He had not been made to answer to his extermination of the four targeted groups, so it was time to move on. Had he been successful, his next targeted group was the Catholics.
