Welcome to a new world. A world where you can explore, grow, and live whatever lifestyle you want. Second Life is a mostly adult 3D virtual world that is created by its residents. There are over 8 million residents living a second life and that means people from all walks of life looking to explore and seek others of a like mind. Basic MembershipBasic Membership is free. When you sign up for basic membership you will not be asked for any credit card information. Instead, you begin almost immediately creating a basic avatar. Once you’ve chosen your name, gender, and newbie look, you will be able to download Second Life to your PC or Mac. Upon starting Second Life, you will find yourself in orientation. Take time to explore this area and learn how to change your body shape, hair color and style, and clothes. You should also learn how to teleport. Pagan and Wiccan AreasThe Witch’s Brew (Evalua 224, 187, 28) – The Witch’s Brew is an extremely friendly pub. When stepping inside the building, everyone rushes to greet you. There’s dancing and loads of fun and talk. While they have a DJ on Saturdays and events throughout the week, Vhaera Sands, the Witch’s Brew Manager, states “we focus more on the positive energy here then the events.” When you step outside of The Witch’s Brew, you enter The Witch’s Garden. Here you will find everything from men’s and women’s clothing to intimate wear, capes and jewelry to skins for realistic looking avatars. Anam Turas Island Pagan Learning Grove – Druid / Shaman (21, 163, 27) – The Pagan Learning Grove surrounds your avatar with a stunningly beautiful landscape. There are places for your avatar to relax and meditate or join in a circle dance around a bonfire. There is even a spot to practice Tai Chi. Events include group meditations and learning sessions. This is truly a place where Pagans can come and enjoy themselves peacefully, and walk away a little wiser. Sublime Goddess: Church of the Pagan Dawn (Sublime Goddess 34, 133, 26) - Church of the Pagan Dawn has a temple and learning center, ritual area, and a chapel. There is also a shop where you can by a flying broom, an altar set, and a floating ritual den for impromptu rituals, jewelry, and more.
So Many Places There are places to hold rituals and to learn about rituals, spell casting, and the Pagan religions. There are places to meditate, dance around bonfires, enjoy the stone henges, and stroll through the crystal gardens. Your avatar can also visit one of the dance clubs, such as Hex! (Laurier 46, 68, 52), and join in the dress up contests. Should you decide to purchase a premium membership for Second Life, you will get a plot of land where you can build your own personal sanctuary using items bought at numerous Pagan and Wiccan shops scattered throughout many regions in Second Life. So sign up and spend a second lifetime exploring the Pagan and Wiccan areas. To find shops, covens, and groves that aren’t listed in this article, click on the search button at the bottom of the Second Life play screen. Click on the tab for either events or places and type in “Pagan,” “Shaman,” “Wicca,” or anything else you desire to find.
